Our Vision: We envision a future where the stories and traditions of Berea's African American community are celebrated and remembered by all. Our vision includes:
Educational Engagement: Through oral narrations, public exhibits, and workshops, we aim to educate the community and foster a deeper understanding of African American history and local heritage. In addition, we honor and recognize the histories and cultures locally that often go unrecognized, ensuring a more inclusive appreciation of our community's diverse heritage
Youth Involvement: We strive to engage local students in learning about Berea's Black history and heritage, offering volunteer opportunities, scholarships, and incentives to inspire the next generation.
Preservation of Sacred Sites: We are committed to maintaining and restoring local African American cemeteries. Additionally, we will assist with the restoration of any local cemeteries in dire need of cleaning and restoration, ensuring these sites are honored and preserved for future generations.
Sustainable Living: By offering workshops on sustainable living, we honor the agricultural and homestead practices of our ancestors while promoting these values for the future for all diverse backgrounds.
